The beans of “Women’s Crown” take their name from a Rwandan tradition in which women receive a Rugori crown after the birth of their first child — a symbol of motherhood and respect. At Gasharu Coffee, this lot was created as a tribute to the women who make up the majority of the team and carry out a vital share of the work in both coffee growing and processing. Although women shoulder much of the responsibility in coffee communities and in their households, only a small portion of coffee income actually reaches them. Thanks to a transparent system, they benefit directly from its production.

This coffee is the result of an experimental anaerobic washed process. In the cup, you’ll find notes of blueberries, yogurt, cranberries, and jasmine, supported by gentle fruitiness, bright acidity, and a smooth body. The result is a coffee that feels clean, lively, and pleasantly complex.
