Product detailed description

The coffee comes from the mountainous area of Bener Meriah in the Gayo Highlands region of Indonesia, where coffee cultivation is deeply intertwined with the cultural identity of the local community. The coffee is shade-grown at altitudes of 1300–1450 meters above sea level, on fertile volcanic soil, where it undergoes slow and natural development.

This microlot is produced under the Terry Farm project, which brings together smallholder farmers and supports sustainable farming practices. Farmers use eco-friendly methods, including composting coffee waste, which helps naturally maintain soil health and fertility. The initiative also includes an educational program for younger generations, promoting sustainable agriculture and strengthening the community’s connection to coffee and its origin.

Women, especially farmers’ wives, play a key role in the cultivation process, taking part in harvesting and carefully sorting the coffee cherries. Their attention to detail has a direct impact on the final quality of the beans. Each cup thus reflects not only the character of the region, but also the care and dedication of the local community.

The coffee is processed using the anaerobic natural method, where fermentation takes place without access to oxygen, enhancing intensity and creating a subtle wine-like character. In the cup, it offers a harmonious balance of a full body and pronounced sweetness, complemented by refreshing fruitiness. Notes of chocolate-covered cherries and brown sugar are complemented by a fresh grapefruit note, creating a balanced and complex experience.
