Product detailed description
This coffee comes from Los Naranjos farm, located in the mountains of Acevedo in Colombia’s Huila department, where Luis Erney Claros and his family dedicate their everyday care to producing high-quality coffee cherries.
Alongside the traditional Castillo variety, the farm also focuses on more experimental and less common varieties, including this exceptional Gesha. The combination of working with exclusive varieties and innovative processing methods allows Luis Erney to continually push the quality of his coffee further while creating better conditions for his family.
The success of his work is reflected, among other things, in this Los Naranjos coffee, which was selected for the Top Roast Colombia competition and placed among the top coffees for two consecutive years. It took 1st place in 2023 and 2nd place in 2024, making it one of the most successful competition coffees of its kind in Colombia.
The coffee cherries are hand-picked and carefully sorted to ensure that only perfectly ripe cherries continue to processing. They then undergo a 60–80-hour fermentation using an aromatic herb macerate. After fermentation, the beans are thoroughly washed and dried for approximately two weeks.
In the cup, the coffee is fresh, light and distinctly sweet. Its flavour gradually reveals the delicate character of rooibos, fresh lemongrass, sweet lime and pronounced limoncello. The result is a light and clean coffee with pronounced sweetness and a fresh citrus character.
