In Tanzania, over 90% of coffee is grown by smallholder farmers on small family plots. The harvested cherries often go to processing stations, where crops from multiple areas are combined. This creates stable, well-balanced lots that can supply coffee in larger volumes and with consistent quality.
Korongo is part of the Sucafina Originals range – coffees purchased directly from farmers and processors within an interconnected supply network. This lot comes from the southern highlands, specifically the Mbozi, Mbeya, and Mbinga regions. The cherries are handpicked, then the pulp is removed using either an eco-pulper or a traditional pulper. This is followed by fermentation and slow drying in parchment for 14–20 days on raised beds.
IMPACT certification ensures the coffee is grown sustainably, with fair conditions for farmers and respect for nature. In the cup, you’ll find a full body, sweetness reminiscent of raisins and maple syrup, the fruitiness of blackcurrant, and a subtle note of Earl Grey – a reliable choice for both espresso and filter brewing.
