Product detailed description
This coffee comes from Furaha Farm in Tetu, in Kenya’s Nyeri region. It is a microlot of SL28 and SL34, two iconic Kenyan varieties that have played an important role in shaping the country’s coffee production. Both were selected through the breeding program of Scott Agricultural Laboratories and remain among the varieties most closely associated with Kenyan coffee. SL28 is known for its vibrant fruit character and lively acidity, while SL34 is often linked to a fuller and sweeter cup profile.
The coffee trees at Furaha grow at an altitude of 1,700–1,850 metres above sea level. After harvest, the cherries are processed using the traditional washed method, resulting in a clean and clearly defined flavour profile.
As a filter coffee, Furaha reminds us of blackberry jam, ripe raspberries and gooseberries. Blackberry brings a deeper sweetness, ripe raspberries add a pronounced fruit character, while gooseberry gives the cup a fresh, gently tart edge. The result is a clean, vibrant and juicy cup.
