Product detailed description
Honduras Matazano offers a balanced combination of chocolate and nutty notes with a refreshing citrus aftertaste. In the cup, you'll find orange zest, Brazil nuts and chocolate, complemented by subtle hints of dried and tropical fruits.
The coffee comes from the Montecillos region in the La Paz department of southwestern Honduras, where it grows in the shade of banana trees at an altitude of 1450–1600 m above sea level. The indigenous Lenca people call this area “the place of stone” due to its rugged, mountainous terrain. The farm is run by Elvin Adolfo Castillo, a young producer and certified cupping expert (IHCAFE), who continues a family tradition and cultivates coffee with a focus on ecology and biodiversity.
Ideal for espresso as well as immersion brewing methods – such as French press, coldbrew, or clever dripper.
