Product detailed description
This lot comes from the village of Santa Bárbara, nestled high in the mountains of Guatemala’s Huehuetenango region. Coffee trees grow here at altitudes between 2000 and 2300 meters above sea level, in a unique microclimate shaped by the collision of warm lowland air and cool mountain currents from the Cuchumatanes range.
Most farmers live directly on their small farms with their families, and coffee production is a true community effort — cherries are picked by hand, fermented in simple plastic or wooden tanks, and dried on rooftops or raised beds. Through cooperation with the export company Unitrade Coffee, producers can process their harvests more efficiently and reach specialty markets. The CoffeeCare initiative further supports local communities with education, nutrition, and healthcare projects.
In the cup, Santa Bárbara offers a clean and balanced espresso. Expect notes of dark chocolate, almond, and a gentle pistachio sweetness. With low acidity and a medium body, it works well both on its own and with milk.
