Product detailed description
The coffee comes from the Hambella Wamena area in the Guji zone of the Oromia region in southern Ethiopia, which is widely regarded as the birthplace of coffee. High altitudes, red clay soils, and the shade of native trees create ideal conditions for cultivating indigenous Heirloom varieties.
The Deri Kidame processing station works with approximately 600 smallholder farmers from the surrounding area. This lot was processed using the natural method. Coffee cherries are hand-picked by local farmers and carefully sorted to remove underripe and overripe fruit before delivery to the processing station. Drying takes place on African beds in thin layers for up to 20 days. Thanks to the high altitude, the drying process is slow and even, helping to preserve pronounced sweetness, enhance the coffee’s fruit character, and prevent unwanted fermentation.
A delicate black tea base is complemented by notes of sweet lime and papaya, resulting in a well-balanced, naturally sweet profile with clarity and gentle complexity.
